Digital Certificates

To insure the security and confidentiality of credit card and other personal data sent by your customers over the internet, Intersessions has secure web servers (SSL) on all of its computers. These secure servers may be used at no charge by all of our customers.

When combined with a digital certificate issued by a certificate authority (e.g., Thawte or Verisign) the data can be encrypted and sent securely over the internet. On each of our servers we have digital certificates also available for your use at no charge. You can send out web pages and receive form data back through the secure server by using a URL in the form:

https://www.ourservername.com/yourdomainname.com/yourpage.html (Unix)

https://www.ourservername.com/yourloginname/yourpage.html (NT)

The Payflow Pro client software is a small SSL TCP/IP enabled messaging agent that controls communications between your application and the Payflow Platform. Payflow Pro creates a dedicated SSL TCP/IP level communication thread for each transaction between the client and the server.

Merchant Account - Typical Cost Structure

The cost of a merchant account is composed of charges from two sources. First, is the charge from the credit card company and it's agent bank for processing your application and then processing credit card transactions. Second, is the charge for the terminal, terminal software and/or charge for the use of the payment network. These costs may vary based on previous credit or business history. However, this is a typical cost structure;

  • Heartland Bank merchant account application fee - $95
  • PayFlowPro setup fee - $249
  • Heartland Bank credit card transaction fees - 2.5% plus 30¢ each transaction - monthly minimum of $22.50
  • Heartland Bank statement fee - $7.50/mo.
